Carmilla is an evocative, supernaturally-inflected coming-of-age tale loosely based on Sheridan Le Fanu’s novella. The film combines the beauty, gruesomeness, and inevitability of nature with a young girl’s burgeoning sexuality to tell this cautionary tale about what happened when we demonise that which we don’t understand. Premiere - Edinburgh International Film Festival. Nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film 2019.  Distributor Altitude.

"Carmilla perfects the experience not just of first love, but of the heady excitement of being completely bewitched by someone new” - Screen Daily “Fresh and original, Carmilla is a film that feels like a classic waiting to be studied and analysed in film schools for years to come." - Filmotomy “A hauntingly beautiful tale that draws you in like whispers in the night.” - MVFF42
