The Crown | The Craft explores the artistry and production process of the Left Bank / Netflix series The Crown.

The film highlights key creative departments including costume, production design, hair and makeup, cinematography, sound, visual effects, script and research, showing how each collaborate and contribute to recreating the world with precision and emotional depth. It demonstrates how every aspect is translated into visual storytelling, from fabrics to meticulously recreated interiors of Buckingham Palace to the subtle construction of character through prop and performance detail. Every element on screen is the result of layered, collaborative expertise.

Interviews, filmed as unmoderated round tables with questions left on a deck of cards for the participants to discover and discuss, reveal the scale of coordination and creativity required, as well as the creative problem-solving. It also touches on the tension between authenticity and interpretation, how the team balances historical accuracy with the demands of drama.
